250 Hot Jalapeno Early Pepper Capsicum Vegetable Seeds

250 Hot Jalapeno Early Pepper Capsicum Vegetable Seeds
Model: TGW-JAL
Manufacturer: The Gardening World

Date Added: Tuesday 03 October, 2017
Jalapeno Early Hot Pepper  Heirloom Seeds. 65 days. Dark-green to red, 3 inch peppers taper to a  rounded tip. This plant has a prolific and continuous harvest as long as it is well-maintained. Scoville units: 2,000 - 8,000 ***ANY PURCHASE OF ANY 2 SEED PACKS OR MORE AT CHECKOUT (NOT EVERY ITEM) WILL RECEIVE ONE FREE PACK OF VEGETABLE OR FLOWER SEEDS PER ORDER.*** ***JALAPENO PEPPER GROWING GUIDE BELOW*** Named for their native Mexican city of Xalapa,  Veracruz, jalapenos are the most well known chili pepper in both Mexico  and the United States. When smoked and dried, jalapenos become  chipotles; this practice dates back to the time of the Aztecs. The state of Texas, which produces more jalapeno peppers than any other state,  made the jalapeno its state pepper in 1995. Jalapeno Pepper Germination Start pepper seeds indoors in peat pots about 8 weeks before the last  expected spring frost. Sow them 1/4" deep and keep the soil at 80-85  degrees F until germination; provide sunlight or a grow light for 12-16  hours a day. When the outdoor temperature reaches 60-65 degrees F during the day and no less than 50 degrees F at night, transplant the  seedlings 12-16" apart. Exposing the plants to the weather for several  hours a day before transplanting may help prevent shock. Peppers also  grow well in containers or raised beds. Growing Jalapeno Pepper Seeds Keep the soil evenly moist and weeds under control; mulching the plants may  help with this. If excess heat and sun cause the plants to wilt, provide shade. Harvesting Jalapeno Pepper Seeds Harvesting hot peppers is basically a matter of personal preference. Generally,  the longer the peppers mature on the vine, the hotter they will taste.  Mature peppers, however, signal the plant to stop producing; if the  peppers are picked when still at the green stage, the plant will go on  producing. Always use a knife or scissors to remove peppers to prevent  damage to the fragile stems. Jalapeno peppers produce an extended  harvest. Saving Jalapeno Pepper Seeds Seeds Keep in mind that peppers will cross pollinate with other varieties of  pepper, so isolation or caging may be necessary to preserve genetic  purity. Allow the pepper to fully mature, than cut it open and remove  the seeds. Spread out the seeds to dry for about two weeks. Store the  seeds in a cool, dry place for up to two years. All of our vegetable seeds are heirloom or organic unless otherwise stated. No chemicals or pesticides. ... more info

(True cantaloupe has a rough, warty rind and is not widely grown or commercially available in the US.) Muskmelons are a heat-loving fruit with a long growing season. Their cultural and growing requirements are very similar to other melons. They have a net-like, tan rind, and sweet orange flesh. The names muskmelon and cantaloupe are used interchangeably. We will use the name cantaloupe for this page to avoid confusion. PLANTING Amend soil with aged manure or compost before planting. Growing the vines in raised rows, known as hills, ensures good drainage and will hold the sun’s heat longer. If you are in a cooler zone, start seeds indoors about a month before transplanting. Cantaloupe vines are very ... more info

Date Added: Tuesday 03 October, 2017
The California Wonder Sweet Pepper is named accordingly; it truly is a wonder watching this vegetable mature, which takes 75 days. These peppers are green for most of their life but once they reach maturity, they magically transform into a deep red pepper. These plants produce large yields of blocky, mostly four-lobed, thick-walled fruit that is mild and sweet (Capsicum Annuum). The ever bearing, upright bush plant produces fruits up to 4 inches long by 4 inches wide that weigh around 6 oz each. This is a great plant to start inside and then later transplant outside after the last frost. The soil temperature must be no less than 65°F at the time of transplant. They can be grown in containers but it must be a rather large container. California Wonder peppers also need summer shade but at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. The taste of these beauties is a pleasant mild flavor with a crisp, thick flesh. ***BELL PEPPER GROWING GUIDE BELOW*** All of our vegetable seeds are heirloom and organic unless otherwise stated.
